    Dr. Tanvi Maharaja's Professional Profile

Committed to excellence, focused, and driven by passion for my work, I am a Pelvic Health PT, Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist (PCES), certified in fertility rehab, and helping the community in the capacity of PT/Clinical Expert at St Joseph's Health/St Joseph's Wayne Medical Center.

I believe in quiet confidence as a leader, that is founded on empathy and driven by data, that can range from servant leadership to coach to motivational leadership based on context, with compassion at its core.

I have the unique privilege of getting to work with patients of ALL genders with bladder, bowel, and sexual dysfunction, and empower them to live the life of their choice. I value trauma informed care and prioritize the wellbeing of the individuals in my care above all else. I use concepts and nuances from my Yoga Life Coach training tailored to patient's needs and preferences, in order to provide holistic mind-body treatment grounded in research supporting contemplative neuroscience.

Certified and trained in fertility rehab, I work with women facing challenges with conception, and work towards a shared goal of conception, a healthy pregnancy, safe carrying to term, and favorable birth experience. As a PCES, it has been extremely rewarding to get to work with pregnant and postpartum moms to help them achieve their individual goals, and share that special journey from antenatal through the postnatal period with them.

I am trained in rehabilitative ultrasound imaging of the lumbopelvic region, and in visceral mobilization techniques. I am an eclectic practitioner of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, certified through NAIOMT, with a special interest in the spine and the TMJ. My Ortho workload comprises of mostly spine and TMJ patients, and developing this niche practice in the orthopedics world has been a thrilling journey.

Combining my two specialties, Orthopedics and Pelvic Health, I strive to remain a present, conscious clinician, looking at the patient as a whole, applying the principles of evidence-based practice, pain neuroscience education, and really listening to understand the patient's story. This has stood me well over time, as patient buy in is huge, resulting in outstanding results even in complicated, multi-faceted pathologies.

Spending time with my family and my fur baby, hiking, swimming, and reading keep me occupied when I am off of work.

I am a huge believer in self-care/mind-body connection, the power of empathy and compassion, and in providing a safe space for all my patients through all walks of life.
